The Times Of India has issued an update on the status of tickets issued to Verizon customers as of Thursday morning.
According to the update, ticket issuance has ceased as of 7am.
The news comes a day after a video was uploaded on social media purportedly showing a Verizon ticket issuing official being escorted out of the concert venue.
The incident has triggered outrage in the country and sparked an investigation.
The video was shared by a user named ‘Girish’ who wrote that he was approached by an official at the venue who was trying to force a Verizon employee to issue a ticket.
“I was not able to get in to get the tickets.
He told me the tickets are issued by Verizon, that the tickets were sent to me and that he will go there,” Girish wrote in the video.
“It was the same official, who was not authorised to issue tickets to anyone.
The official who came was very abusive towards me and the others.
I had to give up and leave, because I was not allowed to enter the venue,” he added.
Verizon spokesperson Michael B. Osterholm confirmed the incident, and said the company was investigating.
“We are aware of the video, and are investigating,” Osterheim said in an email to The Times.
“We have reached out to the ticket issuing party and will take appropriate action.
We do not believe that the video is authentic and we are investigating.
We have reached all of the parties involved, and we will provide a full explanation in the coming days.”
