Trainline has introduced a new ticket issue tool in the UK, which allows customers to cancel trains between two points without paying for an upgrade or leaving their seat.
This feature is available in the U.K. and Ireland.
Trainline says that it works by creating a ticket that requires a valid U.S. or Canadian Passport, or by entering the ticket number, the train’s track number, and a date to cancel it.
Once you enter these details, the system creates a new issue, which is created in a separate tab in your account.
If the ticket doesn’t work, you can simply click cancel and you’ll be prompted to select an alternative option.
The new ticket will then expire and no longer require payment, and the ticket will automatically be canceled.
You can check which options are available on the Ticket Issue tool in Trainline’s FAQ.
Trainlines service is currently limited to trainlines service between London, London, and London (including London to Paris and London to Amsterdam).
The company says that the issue tool is available for U.k. and Irish customers, but has not yet been tested on U.s. customers.
